This cluster is focused on exploration the creative process, inspired by and developed in collaboration with a unique location, and employing multi-sensory methods of research. Working with particular places, the sessions include sensory workshops, exploring how different senses outside vision can help us engage with a location and reveal invisible layers of meaning, and create emotional narrative.
There are guest presenters such as the award winning landscape architecture studio J L Gibbons, and writer and Sensory Sites member Kay Syrad, who introduce their own methodologies in working with places and their stories.
In Conversation with Fatih Akin (East End Film Festival)
Leading German filmmaker Fatih Akin won the Golden Bear in 2004 at the Berlin Film Festival for his cross-cultural twisted romantic thriller Head-On. In his first UK appearance since his latest film In the fade won the Golden Globe for best Foreign Language film.
In this session, Fatih Akin talks about the controversy surrounding his latest work, his eclectic body of work that is a heady mix of comedies, thrillers and music documentaries, all while being the leading cinematic voice on cultural assimilation.

Performance for Equality Project July 2017
Documentation of rehearsals and the final show of the Performance for Equality Project at the Roundhouse. Participants on this project spent ten weeks with professional artists debating, devising and learning practical skills to help make work that is exciting, empowering, and promotes equality.
Gallipoli Songs Concert at Kings Place Concert Hall London
A distinguished group of Turkish and British artists, consisting of opera singers and pianists, offered an exclusive and unforgettable night of arias. The concert, titled Gallipoli Songs: Grief Speaks the Same Language, featured an engaging blend of Turkish and British sorrow songs written and composed upon unforgettable memories of Gallipoli Campaign in 1915. Their extraordinary performance received a standing ovation from over 400 audiences at Kings Place.
The concert, which was held as part of a programme of activities commemorating the centenary of the Gallipoli Campaign, was organised by Turkish Culture and Information Office in London, Yunus Emre Institute, Turkish Embassy and The Gallipoli Association.
